Our Story & Our Shepherd

How God has faithfully built New Life Baptist Church through obedience, patience, and His grace.
New Life Baptist Church was founded to be an independent, fundamental work for Jesus Christ in the year 1991. The church went through several transitional periods of leadership until October 1999, when Brother Michael Mabe was ordained and voted in as Pastor under the watch care of the church, waiting for the year 2000.
Within a few months, the congregation of less than ten members began to grow at a fairly consistent rate. Over the next few years, the church established a Sunday School program, added deacons to serve, and eventually settled at around forty congregants.
Since then, members have continued growing closer to Christ and to one another through God’s Word, discipleship training, men’s and women’s fellowship groups, a seniors group, Vacation Bible School, a junior children’s church program, and a youth group.
Through consistent and periodic revivals, New Life Baptist Church experienced steady growth to nearly one hundred members. As the congregation grew, the need arose to expand beyond its landlocked facility. With God’s hand upon us, we were poised to take the next step to build a home that would serve Him more fruitfully.
In February of 2016, God orchestrated a tremendous opportunity for New Life Baptist Church to obtain a facility formerly known as Allen Jay Baptist Church, located in High Point, North Carolina. After prayerful consideration, the church moved forward as God opened the door.
The property in Thomasville was sold, along with a previously acquired five-acre property in Archdale, and the church moved into its new location in March of 2016. God provided a facility nearly seven times the size of our former location. He has been sending souls ever since, and we continue to say “Wow!” as we witness His faithfulness.
We eagerly anticipate what God has in store next as we continue to patiently and obediently wait on Him.
In the book of John, Jesus declares, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” In these words, Christ spoke of His death on the cross, willingly paying the price for the sins of the whole world. Though it cost Him His life, Jesus paid the penalty for our sin so that whosoever believes in Him would be set free from its guilt and punishment.
At New Life Baptist Church, we believe in lifting up the Lord Jesus Christ—not only in our worship services, but in our daily lives as well. We invite you to come and allow Christ to change your life forever.
